The College of Dentistry at Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST) in the United Arab Emirates received a delegation from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, headed by Dr Patrick Byrne, this month.

This visit deepened the co-operation between the two colleges, as well as seeing the renewal of an agreement of co-operation that was established with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2004, allowing AUST to be a training centre for the Irish fellowship exams. The visit also included access to the expertise offered by College of Dentistry at Ajman University.

This visit allowed for discussion of the ways co-operation between the two colleges can be expanded, plus preparation for a joint scientific conference to be organised between the college of Dentistry at AUST and the College of Dentistry at the RCSI. Specialised postgraduate collaboration with the Royal College was also on the agenda during the visit.

Dr Salem Abu Fanas, Dean of the College of Dentistry at Ajman University of Science and Technology, said: ‘Ajman University of Science and Technology, represented by the College of Dentistry, welcomes such visits, which contribute to the development of its employees and students.’
