22 billion and trust in the government

The Senate closes its passage on Budget lawgiving the green light to the maneuver which now reaches the Chamber for final examination. The chamber approved the measure with 110 votes in favour, 66 against And 2 abstentions. In the same session the yes to the vote also arrived Variation noteapproved after the government’s vote of confidence on the maxi-amendment: in that case there were yes votes 113the no 70with 2 abstentions.

The vote of confidence and the passage to the Chamber

The government had tied the approval of the maneuver to confidence in the maxi-amendment, a decisive step to secure the text before its transfer to Montecitorio. With the vote in the chamber, the measure then leaves the Senate and heads towards the final stage of the parliamentary process.

The rules removed from the maxi-amendment

During the examination in the Budget Committee they were five measures removed. The law was released that would have allowed entrepreneurs convicted for underpayment of employeeswhile respecting some collective agreements, not to pay the arrears. Giorgetti: «A maneuver worth around 22 billion»

Giorgetti defended the political merit of the approved measures, speaking of long-awaited interventions. Among these, the taxation at 5% of contractual increases for employees with lower incomes and the1% rate on productivity wagesindicated as a signal of the direction of travel given by the government to economic policy. «A good budget law», concluded the minister, «which confirms a positive trajectory for the country and for Italians».
