The thermal account 3.0 starts on 25 December. How to ask for the direct contribution for energy efficiency works, for houses, offices and shops
65% incentives for boilers, heat pumps and energy redevelopment. The Christmas bonus arrives. From 25 December the thermal account 3.0 enters into force, the new version of the state contribution which makes the replacement of heating systems and redevelopment interventions to reduce consumption and pollution. The decree, published in the Official Gazette, puts 900 million euros per year on the table (500 for public buildings and 400 for private individuals and businesses). It is a direct contribution that covers up to 65% of the expenditure made and which is paid within sixty days from the end of the works. In two months you receive money, a clear advantage so for citizens compared to the old Ecobonus, which worked with deductions diluted over the years.
Christmas Bonus 2025: what changes for private homes
The new thermal account confirms the 65% contribution for those who decide to replace the old boiler with a heat pump, a hybrid system or a certified biomass boiler. The difference compared to version 2.0 is double: on the one hand, incentives also arrive for the installation of photovoltaic panels combined with the systems, on the other it opens up to the possibility of the so -called “bivalent systems”. In practice, those who do not want to make a complete replacement can opt for a air conditioner that works as main heating, keeping the condensing boiler (provided that they have been installed for less than five years) as a support on the colder days. So bonus also for partial works. Then there are contributions for “accessories” interventions such as accumulation batteries and charging columns for electric cars, covered at 20% of the expenditure, with a 30% increase for high -performance solar panels produced in the European Union. This is designed for those who intend to proceed by degrees, without changing everything immediately.
Thermal account 3.0 for shops and offices: coats, fixtures and nzeb
Another novelty of the thermal account 3.0 is the possibility of requesting the contribution also for shops and offices. They will be able to benefit from contributions up to 65% of the expenditure for interventions of building efficiency: from thermal insulation with low -consumption coats and fixtures, to solar shielding and intelligent lighting systems. For those who decide to face more complex jobs, such as demolition and reconstruction in Nzeb (Nearly Zero Energy Building), the bonus will also cover expansions of up to 25%. But there is a limit, linked to the energy saving obtained: it must be at least 10% in the case of a single intervention and 20% if the works concern multiple fronts simultaneously. And then there are public buildings in small municipalities under 15 thousand inhabitants. Here the contribution can even reach 100%.
How to request the Christmas bonus: the instructions of the Energy Services Manager
He is always manager of energy services (GSE) to manage contributions. The online portal will be updated to accept applications within 60 days from the entry into force of the decree. Until then, thermal account 2.0 remains active, for which there are still available resources. How do you do and will access the bonus? We record on the manager’s website, the technical documentation and invoices and the verification of compliance with the minimum required requirements are attached. Once the checks are completed, the refund is accredited directly on the current account of those who made the request within two months of the end of the works.
