It will be the third consecutive in Riyad, the contract signed by the League expires in 2028 and provides for a total of four editions. The first two of the Serie A ranking will be added to the already qualified Milan and Bologna
Italian football still likes the Arabs who have decided that the Super Cup for the third consecutive edition Italian will be played in Riyad.
In 2018 the Serie A League stipulated a three -year agreement with Saudi Arabia, in the person of the Saudi Arabia Minister of Sport, Turki Alalshikh, to bring the Super Cup to Riyad for three seasons.
An agreement that at the time had a total value of 24 million euros. The editions of 2020 and 2021 should have been held in Saudi Arabia but, due to the Pandemia from Covid 19, they took place in Reggio Emilia and the Meazza in Milan.
The agreement was then renewed for four other editions and provided that, in six years, four editions are played in Saudi Arabia, with two consecutive editions (2023 and 2024) in Saudi Arabia, two years will be played elsewhere and finally the last two editions in the Saudi country (2027 and 2028), but now the Arab government has decided to also play the next to Riyad and therefore, as per contract, One last to play in three years.
It is up to the Saudi Arabia to decide, so provides for the contract and therefore next year we will know when the last edition will be played in Arabia.
The agreement has a total value of 92 million euros. Every year Riyad pays 23 million to have the Italian Super Cup, 6.8 enter the League’s coffers directly, while the remaining 16.2 are divided between the four participants, 8 to the winner, 5 to the finalist and 1.6 to the two semi -finalist defeats.
At the moment, Milan and Bologna are already qualified, the two finalists of the Italian Cup who will challenge each other on May 13 at the Olimpico in Rome for the conquest of the Trophy.
The other two clubs that will participate will presumably be Naples and Inter, currently in the first and second place in Serie A four days after the end of the tournament.
