Donald Trump visited the police headquarters and the national guard in Anacostia, bringing pizza and hamburgers to thank the troops
Donald Trump visited the police headquarters and the soldiers of the National Guard in Anacostia, in the south-east of Washington, bringing with him pizza and hamburgers to thank those who work every day to guarantee the safety of the city. “I brought you the hamburgers cooked by the chefs of the White House but we took the pizza in the best place in the city”said the president, reaching one of the neighborhoods considered among the most dangerous in the capital with his procession.
Next to him were the Attney General Pam Bondi and the prosecutor of the capital Jeanine Pirro, who, in one of the photos circulated on social media, is seen to personally serve the pizza for agents and soldiers.
According to Associated Press, some areas of Washington are taking on the appearance of an occupied territory, with huge military transport vehicles scattered on the streets. In the first ten days from Trump’s federal intervention, the average number of daily arrests increased by about 20%.
The president explained that his goal was to thank the troops of the National Guard, underlining the efforts not only to quickly reduce crime, but also to clean up graffiti, arrange the sparotropic flower beds and repair the roads.
