Venice Film Festival, the report cards of the seventh red carpet

The seventh day of the Venice International Film Festival transports the public between political tension and real chronicle: it is time to A House of Dynamite And Dead Man’s Wiretwo films that explore the American fantasy -like and a dramatic news episode of the seventies respectively.

On the red carpet of A House of Dynamitedirected by Kathryn Bigelow – First director to win the Oscar in the best direction category with The Hurt Locker – the presence of Idris Elba And Rebecca Ferguson immediately capture the attention. The film tells a race against the time after the launch of a missile of unknown origin on the United States: a story poised between fiction and possible reality, where the responsibilities must be identified quickly and the reactions calculated, with a tight rhythm and a palpable tension.

Dead Man’s Wiredirected by Gus Van Santon the other hand, focuses on a story that really happened on February 8, 1977. Bill Skarsgård, Dacre Montgomery, Colman Domingo And Al Pacino They reconstruct the disturbing story of Anthony G. “Tony” Kiritsis, who took the son of the president of Meridian Mortgage Company hostage, connecting a rifle to the so -called “Dead Man’s Wire”. Van Sant reconstructs the entire dynamic with Minutia, from the organization of the seizure to personal motivations, to the process, offering a precise and intense vintage portrait, in which the whole city becomes the scenario and witness of the tragedy.

The seventh day of the Festival confirms the ability of Venice to combine action cinema and historical story, between adrenaline, suspense and moral depth, offering spectators a complete overview of tensions and dilemmas of the contemporary and recent era.
