At 10pm on Sunday Jannik will face the Russian who surprisingly but clearly overtook Alcaraz
The tenth career final in a Masters 1000 arrives for Jannik Sinner at Indian Wells where he demolished German Sasha Zverev, number four in the world. The score does not allow for discussion: Sinner he won 6-2,6-4 in an hour and 23 minutes with total domination of the match. The signs of a growing form had already been seen in the quarter-finals, but this time Sinner played his best tennis even if the tradition against the German was very favorable: Jannik had won the previous five, always in the semi-final, and on all occasions he had then triumphed in the tournament.
Clear path
Sinner won all the matches in straight sets at Indian Wells, managing all the difficult moments well and also overcoming the difficulties caused by the heat. At the end of the match the South Tyrolean was very satisfied with his performance: “This is a great result, being here in the final for the first time is very important for me. Indian Wells is the tournament I felt most nostalgic for last year (I skipped it due to the stop due to the Clostebol case, ed.). Against Zverev I played an excellent match. The two breaks obtained in the first set gave me confidence. The plan on the eve was to give importance to the answer, I tried to change position often. I’m happy with how it turned out.”
In the final against Medvedev
At 10pm on Sunday evening Sinner will play the final of the Indian Wells tournament against the Russian Medvedev who in the other semi-final that was played during the night beat Carlos Alcaraz 6-3, 7-6 with an exceptional performance from the Russian.
