Posthumous film by Leacche, historic director of the soap “Un posto al sole” and the TV series “La squad”, has as its protagonist a Belarusian immigrant with a cumbersome past
Mom doesn’t like ita grotesque horror comedy, arrives in cinemas on March 24. It is the posthumous film of Gianni Leacchehistorical director of the soap A place in the sun and the TV series The team.
Based on the book of the same name by Gianluca Gemelli, it is the first film produced by Maayca Filman independent production company that declares in one voice: «The originality of the story, enhanced by the cinematographic transposition, the certainty that a master like Gianni Leacche would have been the ideal director to enhance its potential and the availability of a heterogeneous and professionally established cast, immediately envisaged an investment with great artistic and cultural potential».
Set entirely in Lazio, between the Castelli Romani and Sabina, in the center of Mom doesn’t like it there is Alina (played by Monica Carpanese), Belarusian immigrant with a cumbersome past, forced to navigate between distrust, racism and blackmail. When she accepts a job that is both well-paid and “unusual”, she finds herself catapulted into one villa with noir huesbetween disturbing silences and grotesque situations. He has to act as a carer for a taciturn old lady who isn’t that bad after all. Or not?
Also in the cast are Claudio Botosso, Federico Tocci, Gigi Miseferi, Massimo Bonetti, Lucia Batassa, Manuela Montanaro, Jessica Pizzi, Giovanni Di Guida, Federico Capicchiano, Antonia Russo and Cristiana Caremoli.
