NASA’s control center in Houston has re-established communications with the astronauts of the Artemis II mission, after an expected interruption of about 40 minutes while the Orion spacecraft passed behind the Moon. During the blackout, activities on board did not stop: the crew continued observations, including searching for impact flashes on the lunar surface and documenting Earth’s sunrise. When the signal returned, astronaut Christina Koch expressed emotion: “It’s great to feel the Earth again.” Then a symbolic message addressed to the planet: “We will explore and build, but we will always choose the Earth, we will always choose each other” (source Ansa Video)
