Met Gala 2026, the looks of the evening

New York celebrates the opening of the spring exhibition, Costume Art. On the red carpet, well-chosen choices, fashion blunders and free personal interpretations.

Last year, thanks to the Met Gala, over 31 million dollars were raised to finance the activities of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. While waiting to find out if the 2026 edition managed to do better, let’s take a look at the looks. Some premises, there is a substantial difference between the theme and the dress code: the first, Costume Artindicates the exhibition, scheduled from May 10th to January, set up in the museum spaces whose central focus is the analysis of the dressed body through the 5 thousand years of art history present with paintings, sculptures and historical and contemporary garments; the second, Fashion Is Artis the inspiration to be interpreted by the over 450 guests on the red carpet. Doing the honors is the immaculate Anna Wintour, who showed up in Chanel, while the 2026 co-chairs are Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams. The organizing committee, chaired by Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz, features a long list of personalities ranging from cinema to fashion, through sport and business. To be admitted to the A-List of guests, it is not enough to pay for the ticket, but it is necessary to be approved by Vogue’s global editorial director.
