The drunkenness of the piddini for Pedro, Pedro, Pe

Once upon a time there was a myth. His name was Pedro. Pedro Sanchez. In 2023 he managed to remain in government despite losing the elections and, perhaps for this reason, the Democratic Party recognized him as their teacher. The Dems thought they were the best in Europe at governing without votes but, after seeing Pedro, they thought there was something to learn from him. Also because Pedro, to obtain the consensus in Parliament that he did not have in the country, made an agreement with the devil, that in Spain he does not wear Prada, but independence. Catalans and Basques, even the most extremist, supported the new leader of the left. And in the Democratic Party headquarters they sincerely admired such unscrupulousness. «At most we are capable of reaching an agreement with Renzi and Fratoianni», they commented a little enviously. Love had blossomed.

After all, that love is based on solid roots. In fact, Pedro is the political son of José Luis. Long live Zapatero, remember? One myth leads to another, on the left it works like this: passion is handed down from foreign pope to foreign pope, wandering across the entire globe. Now Blair, now Obama, now Clinton, now Zapatero, now Sánchez. Anything goes as long as you don’t look at what’s happening in Roccadipapa or Cinisello Balsamo, otherwise you’ll get dizzy on the left. So at home in the Democratic Party after Zapaterism, Sanchezmania broke out. And Pedro has become a legend, as well as the magic word of every talk show. From that moment, in fact, they parroted it: the energy problem? Let’s do like Pedro. The work? Let’s do like Pedro. Foreign policy? Let’s do like Pedro. The elections? Well, in short, let’s think about it.

In fact, Pedro has lost all the regional elections since 2023. Every time he showed up at the polls (from Castile to Andalusia) he was beaten by the Spaniards. Who must be really stupid not to vote for a prime minister so loved by the Democratic Party. What does it matter? Elly Schlein dotes on him, to the point that – when she meets him – she forgets to ask how he manages to remain in power even against the will of his fellow citizens, which could still be useful, given the habits of the house. And he also forgets to ask how he can be a model for managing the economy despite not having presented a budget law for three years. Stuff that, if Minister Giorgetti, Peppe Provenzano and Marco Furfaro had done it, they would have already occupied Parliament.

But what do you want to do? Love is love, and myth is myth. In recent days, when Sánchez arrived in Rome, he found Elly there, ready to welcome him with open arms. It’s a shame that in the meantime, in Madrid, Guardia Civil agents entered the headquarters of the Socialist Party, of which Pedro is leader, to search it: they were looking for documents on the alleged plots against the judges in which the leader’s main collaborators were allegedly involved. Who today finds himself in the midst of a legal storm: his former right-hand man is under investigation; the wife on trial (corruption, embezzlement, influence peddling and embezzlement); the younger brother as well (abuse of office, influence peddling, embezzlement); his network of collaborators eliminated and his political godfather (namely Zapatero) overwhelmed by scandals. Yet none of this has shaken the blind love of the Italian left, ready to subscribe to the Sánchez-sorcini explanations: «There is a conspiracy by the judges. It’s clockwork justice. The magistrates are angry with the government.” “I feel like I’ve already heard these justifications from someone,” Elly apparently said. But he couldn’t say who that someone was.

Power of love. Truly extraordinary power. Think about it: there is a leader who loses the elections, no longer has any contact with the country, is contested in the streets, overwhelmed by scandals, abandoned by everyone, now incapable of governing, and yet he remains there, clinging to power, barricaded in the Palace, attached to his seat like a mussel to a rock. But (and this is the wonder) he remains a model for the Democratic Party. An example. The lighthouse to follow. They do nothing but admire him, applaud him, praise him, without ever any doubt, without any hesitation. Always. 24 hours a day. Except when they stop for a moment to ask for your resignation. Della Meloni, however.
