Oltrepò Pavese, 32 wineries and over 100 labels: the Pinot Noir revolution between glasses and haute cuisine

2026, the year that saw the official launch of the Classy and the announcement of a new project on still wines with the historical mention Montenapoleone – also brings to the scene a further novelty for the Oltrepò Pavese Wine Consortium: born OltreGusto Oltrepò Land of Pinot Noir, union of the sixth edition of the consortium event dedicated to the classic DOCG method and to Pinot Noir DOC (in red) and the second edition of Oltregusto, which brings together local flavors and food and wine excellence.

The inauguration will be held on Monday 7 September in the enchanting setting of Valentino Garavani Theatre of Voghera (PV), where institutional greetings will take place at 9.30 am, followed by a technical masterclass held by Alessandro Masnaghettithe most authoritative creator of wine maps. With him we will delve deeper into the study and mapping work carried out in the area over the last few months, which has led to the creation of a short volume on the main aspects that shape the wine-growing panorama and the inevitable 2D and 3D maps of the Oltrepò Pavese.

Oltrepò Terra di Pinot Noir then continues in the garden ofGallini Institute of Voghera, temple of agricultural education since 1894. Here, from 11am to 5pm, the tasting stands of 32 wineries will be open, offering over one hundred Classese, Metodo Classico dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOCG and Pinot Noir dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC labels for tasting to the press and operators.

At the same time, two blind tasting sessions of the blanc de noirs and rosé de noir from Oltrepò will be available, in the morning from 12.00 for the press and in the afternoon from 2.30 pm for the operators, an opportunity for a systematic study of the denomination, especially in the name of the Classe area.

As the sun goes down, Oltrepò Terra di Pinot Noir changes face and becomes Oltregusto.

On Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 September, from 7pm to midnight, visitors will be able to live a unique experience of taste, continuing to taste the DOCG and DOC wines of the Oltrepò Pavese, but also meeting the best restaurateurs in the area and discovering excellent products thanks to the presence of the event’s partner companies.

For each evening, 5 wine tastings and 9 tastings will be available from as many Oltrepò restaurants which will offer hot and cold, sweet and savory dishes, taken from their best repertoire. Alongside them, however, there will also be show cooking with Italian star chefs and prestigious guests, who will take turns on stage preparing their own creations live.

The preparations made during the shows will subsequently be offered to participants in finger food format, allowing them to enjoy a complete gastronomic experience.

The union of the two events allows us to jointly promote the excellence of the territory, highlighting the quality of Pinot Noir wines (and not only) and the food and wine heritage that is expressed on these hills at the foot of the Apennines.
