The San Gennaro World 2026 Award, conceived and artistically directed by Gianni Simioli, arrives in the churchyard of the Cathedral of Naples on Monday 28 September, at 8.15 pm, with the patronage and support of the Department of Tourism and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Naples. The evening will be reported live by RTL 102.5 with connections throughout the day. On the occasion of the “Protagonists” award – which is live every evening from 7pm to 9pm – it will be broadcast with Simioli and Fredella right from the cathedral churchyard. In fact, a real “Operation San Gennaro” began days ago with the countdown live on Italy’s leading radio station. An unmissable evening, entirely dedicated to the Patron Saint, to art in general and to the connection with the city of Naples: one of the most anticipated events in Italy.
THE AWARDS OF THE FOURTEENTH EDITION
The prestigious award will be awarded to Tullio De Piscopo, Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, Antonella Morea, Samurai Jay, Susy Galeone, Gianpiero D’Alessandro, Gianfranco Coppola, Tommaso Starace.
«The San Gennaro World Award will, as always, be an emotional wave that arrives on the churchyard of the Cathedral of Naples, paying homage to the identity, authenticity and uniqueness of our extraordinary city which, in recent years, has risen to the roof of the world by attracting tourists of all nationalities. I’ll allow some spoilers. Mayor Gaetano Manfredi will give Tullio De Piscopo the City of Naples medal for “his immense art” and the San Gennaro World Award will be presented to him by LDA and Aka7even who spread “Andamento slow” with him among the young generation from the Ariston stage. An honor to have with us a great of Pietrangelo Buttafuoco culture. We couldn’t help but celebrate the 100 years of Calcio Napoli, to which we dedicated a painting including “behind the scenes stories”, sports narration and soundtracks with Gabriele Esposito who will sing “First of August” by street artist Cristian Vollaro. My thanks go to the Councilor for Tourism and Productive Activities Teresa Armato, my friend and the one of the award; to the Archdiocese of Naples who welcomes us in front of the marvelous Cathedral of Naples and to a team that works an entire year for this evening-event that we are giving to our city”.
