Designer accessories and ready-to-wear collections highlight regional know-how and production excellence
The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum anticipates the fashion week with Mediterranea.Emerging Talents in Campania. Because fashion is above all a question of culture, craftsmanship and vision and in Campania there is no shortage of it. Yesterday evening, in fact, in the presence of personalities such as Daniela Michelino of the General Directorate for Productive Activities Development of the Campania Region, the designer Sabato de Sarno, the Honorable Fulvio Bonavitacola, Councilor for Productive Activities and Economic Development, Campania Region and Sergio Mazzerella of the Directorate of General Affairs, Internationalization and Simplification, Campania fashion told the its history. The creations of a selection of creatives were under the spotlight: for ready-to-wear the voices of Apnoea, Dadamax, Moarno, Saman Loira, Trippat and Vienmnsuonno1926, while for accessories Antonio Cesaro participated for Livio De Simone with Big So Ben, Ilaria Pepino for Kilesa and Modia Romano Embroidery for Omega. United in promoting the Campania tradition, but also its ability to interpret contemporaneity, the selected brands have made the demands of sustainability and innovation their own, as Bonavitacola himself explained, «Campania fashion has its roots in an internationally recognized sartorial and manufacturing tradition. The young designers involved in the Mediterranea project for Milan Fashion Week interpret this heritage with contemporary languages, demonstrating how Campania know-how manages to innovate while strengthening its own identity at the same time.”
