Yamaha renews its gateway to the Hyper Naked world. For 2027, the MT-125 comes with a revised design, a slimmer silhouette and updated technological equipment, keeping the technical elements that characterize its behavior on the road unchanged. A choice that aims to strengthen the bond with the bigger sisters MT-03, MT-07 and MT-09, also bringing to the 125 cc engine the aggressive stylistic language that has distinguished the family since its debut.
The new MT-125 can be recognized by its sharper lines and a redesigned bodywork, in which the tank with sculpted shapes and the new saddle stand out, designed to make the profile of the bike more compact. To complete the ensemble, textured panels with a smoked finish and glitch effect, embellished with the MT logo. The result is a visual identity that looks to higher engine capacities and aims to stand out both in urban traffic and on extra-urban roads.
New front and four colours
The renovation mainly affects the front part, where the new nose adopts angular lines and an even more aggressive layout. The sharply designed LED light cluster, accompanied by updated front turn indicators, accentuates the aggressive expression of the bike. A transparent smoked grille, with MT-125 logo with a frosted effect, completes the new front.
Customization also involves graphics and colours. The new Redline White is added to the range consisting of Ice Storm, Icon Blue and Tech Black, characterized by a marked color contrast and a two-tone saddle. All versions are characterized by a new “125” side graphic on the tank.
Engine and chassis remain unchanged
From a technical point of view, Yamaha confirms the approach of the current model. The 2027 MT-125 maintains the 125 cc single-cylinder engine with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) technology, the variable valve timing system designed to optimize delivery at different speeds. The Deltabox frame, 41 mm upside-down front forks and 810 mm seat height also remain.
The objective is to preserve the handling, stability and control characteristics that helped define the model, without intervening on its basic architecture. The riding position has also been rethought through the new shape of the saddle, to offer comfort in daily use and a more engaging posture when the road invites dynamic riding.
TFT display and smartphone connectivity
The most significant innovation on the technological front is the 5-inch color TFT display, which integrates connectivity with the smartphone through the free Yamaha MyRide app. The instrumentation also offers integrated navigation with step-by-step indications, allowing the motorcyclist to follow the route directly on the display.
The connection also allows you to manage calls, music and messages while driving. The MyRide app expands the possibilities of use even outside the motorbike, thanks to the route recording functions and information on riding sessions, including distance traveled and inclination angle. Users can also store their experiences, add photographs and share content with the community and on social networks.
Arriving in 2027
The 2027 Yamaha MT-125 will be available in dealerships in the first quarter of next year. Together with the motorcycle, the Japanese company will offer a range of original accessories and packages dedicated to customization, which can also be ordered before delivery and can be installed directly at dealers. The accessories included in the packages can also be purchased individually.
With this update, Yamaha aims to strengthen the character of its entry-level naked, intervening on design, ergonomics and connectivity without upsetting an already consolidated technical platform. The MT-125 thus continues to appeal to those looking for a compact and agile motorbike for daily commuting, but with a style and technological equipment inspired by the larger displacement Hyper Nakeds.
