A water education lesson with Acea. The winning schools of the national contest “In search of the lost drop” were awarded

A water education lesson with ACEA. The Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara and the president of ACEA Barbara Marinali awarded the schools today winners of the national contest 2024-2025 “In search of the lost drop: reusing and saving water”as part of the ACEA School Water Education project in which they were asked to make a short film on saving and reusing water.

From this year the initiative, so far aimed at primary and lower secondary school students in six regions – with over 11 thousand members – has been extended nationally bringing an innovative water education path to schools throughout Italy: the aim is to train new generations on the conscious use and protection of water resources. And during 2026, high schools and professional institutes will also be able to participate of the whole country.

On the basis of the evaluations of an internal ACEA jury, of colleagues from the participating companies involved and of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, they were assigned 6 regional awards And 2 national awards. The regional prizes (vouchers of 2,000 euros to the Institute for the purchase of teaching materials) went to: Lazio – IC Gianicolo – Rome; Campania – Il Nuovo Bianchi Institute – Naples; Umbria – G. Mazzini Primary School – Terni; Molise – IC Montini – Campobasso; Tuscany – E. De Amicis ICG Parini primary school – Torrita di Siena (SI); Aosta Valley – Mont Emilius 3 secondary school – Charvensod (AO). The national prizes, i.e. free participation in the Acea Acqua Edu Camp, the sustainable tour that combines water education and sailing, were awarded to: Campania – De La Salle Secondary School – Benevento (24-25 September); Umbria – Villa Pitignano Primary School – Perugia (30 September).

The new 2025-2026 edition of ACEA Water Education School is enriched with new multimedia content And interactive quizzes to increasingly involve students in a dynamic and fun way. Among the planned activities: from training on the world of water in digital mode on a dedicated platform and structured content for the different ages of the students involved a guided tours of the Group’s plants until the possibility of participating in the contest with the production of a short film on water.

The project is an important opportunity not only to present to students the work and new technologies that the ACEA Group uses to guarantee the protection and quality of water in the management of the water service, but also to raise their awareness of the conscious use of this precious resource”, declares the president of ACEA Barbara Marinali.
