This morning Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was received in the hearing by Pope Leo XIV in the Vatican. During the meeting, the question of peace in Ukraine and the humanitarian situation in Gaza were among the main themes discussed.
Subsequently, Meloni went to the Secretariat of State where he met Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State, accompanied by Msgr. Paul Richard Gallagher, secretary for relations with states.
During the interviews, defined as cordial from the Holy See, the good relationship between the Holy See and Italy was underlined, in addition to the common commitment for peace in the current conflicts and for humanitarian assistance. The conversation also touched some bilateral issues and relevant issues for the Italian Church and Society.
