The Venice Biennale, one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world, is preparing to renew its calendar of events with the 2025 edition dedicated to architecture, pending the 61st Biennale Arte scheduled for 2026 multidisciplinary of contemporary culture.
Since 2004 the Biennale has formally a foundation. In addition to temporary exhibitions, it makes use of a permanent historical archive that carries out research and documentation activities. The six main events – art, architecture, cinema, dance, music and theater – alternate in the two years, helping to keep the Venetian and international cultural scene alive.
In 2025 spotlight on the architecture Biennale, which will also extend to Forte Marghera, in the sign of innovation and sustainability. The chosen title, Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collectivesuggests an exploration of the role of architecture in facing the new climatic conditions, making use of forms of multiple intelligence: human, environmental, technological.
Among the historical pillars of the Biennale there is also the Venice Film Festival, founded in 1932 and now recognized as the oldest film festival in the world. Hosted at the Lido, it represents an international showcase for the author’s cinema and the new trends in the sector.
