Ten new songs inspired by the sounds of contemporary pop with some nostalgic forays into the Eighties
But I am fire is an album that talks about human relationships, life, male superficiality, the passage of time (he recently turned 40). The new album arrives at a magical moment in the career of Annalisa That so far it has 19 successful singles for a total of 52 platinum and 14 gold records.
From a sound point of view the album oscillates between the present and the past in a total contamination between contemporary pop and the electronic synth pop of the Eighties. The symbolic songs of the album are Maschio, Piazza San Marco with Marco Mengoni, Avenvelenata (feauturing Paolo Santo) and the final Una tigre sul legge continues to speak to me.
The cover “refers directly to the metaphor of circular time by the philosopher Jorge Luis Borges, as do the album title and the colours: time is a river, it is a tiger, it is a fire, and it drags us, devours us, consumes us, just as we also do with it, or force ourselves to do. We therefore also return in some way to the vortex, that of life, where we find ourselves spinning, but in this journey there is nothing purely passive, rather there is a balance between events and opportunities, and the title of the album, “But I am fire”, fits precisely into this line of thought. With this statement, Annalisa claims her belonging to that inexorable force of time that burns and transforms, reacts, destroys to evolve”.
To celebrate the release of the album, a photographic exhibition, “Art Gallery & instore”, will be set up in some art galleries in the main Italian cities
