Companies, institutions and national bodies will be in Rome on 29 September to celebrate ten years of growth, innovation and circular economy
Cisambiente Confindustria celebrated its first ten years at the Salone delle Fontane di Roma EUR. The event, hosted by Nicola Porro, brought together associated companies, authorities and representatives of institutions, to retrace ten years of constant growth of the Association and the profound transformations that have affected the Italian environmental industry. An evening designed not only to celebrate an anniversary, but to tell the story of the evolution of a sector which in recent years has taken on an increasingly central role in the transition towards circular production models, in the sustainable management of resources, in the recovery of materials and in the production of energy.
Among the guests of honor, the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. Representatives of important national institutions and bodies also took part in the evening: ANAS, SOGESID, the leaders of ISPRA, the Extraordinary Commissioner for Reclamation, the Carabinieri Command for Environmental Protection, together with members of the Environment Commissions of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic.
At the center of the evening is the experience of the environmental industry and the contribution of companies in the development of innovative technologies and processes, in the valorisation of recovered materials and in the increasingly efficient and sustainable management of resources.
Born in 2016 from a project by the General Director Lucia Leonessi and 11 courageous industrialists, Cisambiente Confindustria today represents over 1,500 companies distributed across the entire national territory. A reality that embraces the entire circular economy chain: from waste collection to recovery and treatment activities, from recycling to the production of new raw materials and energy.

The evening will open with the “10 Years of Environment” exhibition, an exhibition itinerary composed of large photographic images dedicated to the modern systems and materials involved in waste management and recovery, enhanced by plays of light and installations designed to accompany guests in the story of the evolution of the sector.
The exhibition presented two unique and unpublished works by Maurizio Galimberti, the internationally known “Polaroid photographer” and famous for the photographic mosaic technique, created through sequences of instant photographs. During his career Galimberti has portrayed, among others, Johnny Depp, Lady Gaga and Robert De Niro.
The dinner was accompanied by performances by the baritone Andrea Sari and the pianist Niccolò Nardoianni. Their interpretations accompanied the guests during the dinner, helping to make the atmosphere of the event even more evocative.
Ten years after its birth, Cisambiente Confindustria thus celebrated the path taken together with its companies, with an eye towards the new challenges of the Italian environmental industry: textiles and WEEE.
