The bodies of five of the Italian victims of the Crans-Montana tragedy arrived around 12.50 on Monday 5 January 2026. They were transported from Sion airport to Milan’s Linate airport by an Air Force C-130 plane which then left around 2pm for Ciampino airport in Rome. The bodies were welcomed by the affection of the relatives. The political authorities were also present to welcome them, including the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa, the mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala and the presidents of the regions of Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Liguria, respectively Attilio Fontana, Michele De Pascale and Marco Bucci (source Ansa Video).
