In Milan the event promoted by councilor Guidesi to encourage young self-entrepreneurship
Over 150 participants including companies, trade associations, stakeholders from the economic world and above all many many young people, ideas and business stories for a clear challenge: to continue to make Lombardy the home of those who imagine, innovate and build.
There is no future without those who have the courage to start. And there is no great undertaking without an idea, a vision and someone willing to make it a reality.
This is the message that came from the ‘Superstudio Più’ in Milan, where startuppers, university students and new entrepreneurs participated in ‘Generazione Impresa’, the initiative promoted by the Lombardy Region Councilor for Economic Development Guido Guidesi to bring the new generations closer to the world of business and create a concrete bridge between talent, opportunity and growth.
A meeting dedicated to those who today have a dream and tomorrow want to transform it into a project, a company, a workplace, a piece of Lombardy’s future. Because doing business doesn’t just mean opening a business: it means having a vision, taking on responsibility, generating value and contributing to the growth of a community.
Lombardy wants to be alongside those who choose this path. Today, tomorrow and always.
“The Lombardy Region – declared Guidesi – wants to be the ally of businesses, of those who create jobs, innovation and development every day. But it also wants to be the ally of young people who decide to get involved, who choose to transform an idea into a project and a project into a reality”.
“Our land has become great thanks to generations of entrepreneurs who had the courage to bet on the future. Today we must give this same possibility to young people: the chance to try, to innovate, to build their own path here. Lombardy must continue to be the home of ideas, the place where an intuition can become a business”.
On stage, experiences capable of demonstrating that talent, when met with courage and the right opportunities, can transform into success were told: Luca Cozzarini, co-founder and CEO of Brum; Rita and Anna Garavelli of Terre Davis; Juri Franzosi, general director of Lombardini22. The meeting closed with the testimony of Alessandro Costacurta, former footballer and sports commentator, who explained how determination, teamwork and a winning mentality are decisive values in sport as well as in entrepreneurial life.
However, the road to growth also passes through the tools put in place. And the Lombardy Region proves to be at the forefront in this too. Since 2021, the Nuova Impresa call has supported the creation of over 4,000 new economic activities, with almost 27 million euros of regional resources capable of generating over 63 million in private investments.
Added to these are microcredit, the venture capital funds Lombardia Venture and Lombardia Venture Step, support for innovative startups and the Startup Competitions 2026, with a total prize pool of 900,000 euros intended for the birth and growth of new businesses in Lombardy’s strategic supply chains, together with interventions to encourage generational turnover and guarantee continuity of historic activities.
Numbers that tell a precise reality: Lombardy is the productive heart of the country and the leading manufacturing region in Europe, with over 816,000 active companies, 27% of innovative Italian startups and the largest national manufacturing system.
“Accompanying those who want to start a business – added Guidesi – means creating favorable conditions, breaking down obstacles and giving confidence. Young people ask us for opportunities and we have the duty to build an environment in which they can express their talent. But we also need a European context that allows our companies to compete, innovate and continue to grow”.
According to research carried out by the Lombardy Region and the Piepoli Institute, the desire to start a business is strong: one in five young Lombards dreams of starting their own business, while 37% consider this possibility for their professional future.
A clear signal: the new generations have ideas, energy and ambition. The challenge is to accompany them.
“Generazione Impresa – concluded Guidesi – was born precisely from this belief: those who have an idea must know they are not alone. We want to put young people in contact with those who have already built a path, tell stories of courage and innovation and demonstrate that doing business is possible. Lombardy will continue to be the place where dreams become projects, where ideas find space and where those who want to build their own future find a territory ready to support them”. (LNews)
