A consistent and high, at least a few kilometers, eruptive cloud overlooks the Etna from the hours of the morning of June 2, 2025. According to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology Etneo of Catania, it was caused by a pyroclastic flow produced by a collapse of material of the northern side of the southeast crater. The event happened at 11 am and was experienced by hundreds of hikers who were along the slopes of the volcano. The hot material, from preliminary observations, seems to have not exceeded the edge of the Leo valley. At the same time, the explosive activity from the South-East crater passed to Lava Fontana.
