From 3 to 7 September 2025, the village of Varzi hosts the Varzi Festival: an edition dedicated to the voice, between concerts, theater, art and author meetings
From 3 to 7 September 2025, Varzi turns into an open -air stage for the Varzi Festivalthe review that brings music, theater, art and word to the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese. This year’s theme is the voicedeclined in all its nuances: sung, narrated, recited and whispered, as a common thread of five days of free events.
Organized by the Varzi Arte Cultural Association with the contribution of the Municipality of Varzi and the Cariplo Foundation, and with the patronage of the Association The most beautiful villages in Italythe Festival combines big names of the Italian and international art scene in a continuous dialogue between past and present, sacred and profane, memory and experimentation.
The program: from pop to baroque, passing through the author’s theater
Wednesday 3 Septemberthe curtain opens at the park of Villa Mangini with Fulvio Abbate And Marco Lodolain a dialogue between art critic and visual creativity, followed by the live of Violante Placido with Femmes fatalestribute to icon music such as Nico, Marianne Faithfull, Patty Pravo, Françoise Hardy and Yoko Ono.
Thursday 4th Septemberthe absolute protagonist will be Noemiin a piano version and voice of his Nostalgia Summer Tourbetween historical successes and songs of the new album NOSTALGIA.
Friday 5 September space for theater with Earthinterpreted by Pamela Villoresi and set to music by the jazz piano of Danilo Rea: an emotional journey inspired by the texts of Valeria Moretti, focused on the link between man and the earth.
The Saturday 6 Septemberthe church of San Germano Bishop will frame Vivaldi, in fury! with The Bariocchists directed by Diego Fasolis and the voice of the mezzosoprano Lucia Cirilloin a high -level execution of the Baroque repertoire.
Closing, Sunday 7 Septemberwill be entrusted to Paolo Ciavarro with a day of talk, meetings and paths to discover the village, including the Festival for the paths and the Quick Visit guided by Giorgia Ricotti.
The cultural and identity value of the Festival
For the mayor Giovanni Pallithe Varzi Festival is “a moment of pride and an opportunity for development for the Oltrepò Pavese, capable of attracting visitors and strengthening the identity of the village as a place where history and arts merge”. The honorary president Marco Lodola He defines it “an echo of Oltrepò throughout the national territory”, while the artistic director Mario Carbotta He underlines how “this edition returns space to the human voice, an instrument of art and truth”.
