After the disastrous season with Juventus, liquidated and not regretted by Elkann, the French manager lands in Tuscany. Klastner wanted it and is trying to get the Nerazzurri back in Serie A.
From the Mole of Turin to the Leaning Tower: Damien Comolli brings algorithms to Serie B and finds a new project after the failed one at Juventus. He will be president and CEO of the Tuscan club, personally chosen by the owners with a three-year contract. He has full powers at the helm of British Alexander Klastner’s club who seized the opportunity after the French manager found himself on the transfer market being dumped by Juventus.
Comolli, a year as plenipotentiary at Continassa and CEO appointed in November 2025 and then fired six months later, evidently wanted to get back into the game and seek a different challenge also to redeem Juventus’ poor results. His relationship with Elkann ended in June with a severance package of 850 thousand euros to conclude without trauma an adventure born under bad stars and continued worse until the failure to qualify for the Champions League and the tensions with Luciano Spalletti.
This is how Klastner welcomed his arrival in Pisa: “I believe that the time has come for Pisa SC to enter a new phase of growth and development. I am convinced that this can happen under the guidance of Damien, who brings with him great experience and a profound knowledge of football, both on and off the pitch. Damien joins Pisa SC with an initial three-year contract. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Giuseppe Corrado and Giovanni Corrado, who have given so much to the Club and are been the heart and soul of Pisa SC over the last ten years.”
Comolli, who had said goodbye to Juventus not without a touch of bitterness, immediately dove into the new challenge: “I am very happy to join Pisa SC as President and CEO. Under the ownership of Alexander Knaster, the Club has made truly significant progress. This shows that Pisa SC is a stimulating Club to join, with decidedly important growth potential, starting from its own organization and the creation of a new cutting-edge sports centre. I look forward to contributing, under every aspect, to the next chapter of the Club’s development path. Forza Pisa!”.
It is possible that the size of a provincial club and not in the spotlight, with the obligation to win or to always be competitive, could be ideal for the French manager, known as a supporter of the use of algorithms in choosing players to invest in to enhance them and put them back on the market. Good recipe in Pisa and in the province, less so at Juventus where the fans still blame last season’s sessions which resulted in problems to be solved for the new management who landed at Continassa in the summer.
