Louis Vuitton renews the Art of Travel by teaming up with Singer: Tambour dashboard case, leather details and capsule collection for elite pilots.
Like every year, elite motoring meets in Monterey for the most exclusive week in the world of four wheels: it is the Monterey Car Week. There are many new features for the 2026 edition. Between famous anniversaries such as the sixtieth anniversary of the Lamborghini Miura and dizzying auctions, one above all the Ferrari Luce “Chassis 0″ sold for 40 million dollars – a world record for a new car sold at auction – there is also space for fashion thanks to the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Singer Vehicle Design, the Californian customization atelier. In the center are two Porsche 911 models: the coupé Reimagined by Singer – Classic and the Classic Turbo cabriolet designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of the maison’s women’s collections. What sparked the spark between the two realities was Tambour, the watch with the drum case created in 2002, as Jean Arnault, Watch Director of Louis Vuitton, explained, «This unique and extraordinary adventure began with the request for a dashboard clock for a car reinterpreted by Singer. In addition to the design and creation of this timepiece by the laboratories of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in Switzerland, it immediately became clear to us that the collaboration with Singer could extend to the customization of every functional element of the vehicle, enhancing it through our expertise in leatherwork and watchmaking: Louis Vuitton, for the first time, has drawn on every aspect of its savoir-faire, bringing together the expertise of each métier of the Maison in a unique automotive project and exclusive. Every department at Louis Vuitton contributed to this unprecedented transversal effort: from the trunk artisans to the leather goods artisans, to the fashion and footwear teams, up to the watchmakers.” An initiative that brings to mind the history of the French brand: since 1897 Georges Vuitton, in fact, designed the first trunks for cars and in 1909 the twins Pierre and Jean Vuitton designed their own car, built on a sports chassis produced by the manufacturer Stabilia, to showcase their products. «This collaboration has brought together two organizations united by the belief that true luxury is defined by craftsmanship, authenticity and uncompromising attention to detail», underlined Mazen Fawaz, Chief Strategy Officer of Singer, «Louis Vuitton has brought an exceptionally bold and refined design vision, focused on the expression of the Art of Travel. Along the way, what began as a creative partnership became a true friendship, professionally and personally, built on mutual respect and a shared pursuit of excellence.” In addition to automotive performance, the two cars carry with them the codes ofArt de vivre starting from the bodywork: the Porsche 911 coupé Reimagined by Singer – Classic, in fact, has a saffron yellow livery with cobalt blue details, Louis Vuitton color codes, while the Reimagined by Singer – Classic Turbo is finished in white

Not only that, between a detail and an exclusive finish, which mark every corner of the cars, fuel and oil caps included, who will put their hands on the steering wheel of these 911 reimaginewill be equipped with coordinated and, needless to say, unrepeatable capsule collections. For the Classic, the kit includes a complete rider look with two pairs of footwear, custom-made luggage, travel bags, including the Keepal, key ring, document pouch, carbon helmet, skis and surfboard. For the Turbo, Ghesquière selected timeless objects such as the Alma, Keepal, Noè and Express bags, alongside jewelery cases, two pairs of sneakers, a parachute silk pilot suit, glasses and driving gloves, just to name a few pieces.
