Fundamental stages: the Fabbrica Sassetti exhibitions, the modular sculpture on the façade of Urban Up| Unipol and the POLI.design experiments.
For its first ten years of activity, the Isola district returns to where it all began, inside Fabbrica Sassetti, where the collective exhibition Isola Design Gallery finds its home; the circular design exhibition No Time for Waste; the creativity of Rasa — The Indian Collective and the focus on the Netherlands with The Dutch Atelier. With the theme TEN: The Evolving Now, the Isola network collaborates with Designtech for the installations spread throughout the neighborhood, while looking to the future: on the one hand, with Archivi Futuri da ZONAK; on the other, with NIMI – La Nuova Intelligence del Made In Italy by IAAD, Accademia Italiana and SAE Institute at the Catella Foundation. Not only that, the Materiae exhibition-event also stops in the neighborhood on the façade of Urban Up | Unipol thanks to the kinetic installation Light Our Fire by Studio Azzurro with 492 thin wavy panels that form a large disc of 37 meters in diameter for a total surface area of over 1100 m2. A little further on, Kornit Digital and D-house urban laboratory, Dual Innovation Hub of the Pattern Group, present Foot/Print EXP, a project created by designers Sangi and Materia, which explores new possibilities in footwear design through the encounter between digital printing technology, material research and design. POLI.design also participates with two programs: on the one hand, Matter in Motion – Material Becomes Experience, created with the Mario Saviola Group and a selected group of Chinese design professionals led by the POLI.design faculty; on the other, the interdisciplinary project with the students of the Unitedworld Institute of Design (UID) in Ahmedabad, India, in collaboration with DesignTech, Isola Design, D-house and Puntozero.
