Grisport gets ISO 14001 certification

The Castelcucco company, specialized in technical and outdoor footwear, strengthens its green commitment with a certified environmental management system, a 15,000 square meter photovoltaic system and a supply chain devoted to the circular economy. The first sustainability budget expected for 2026.

In the heart of the Treviso hills, the Grisport company continues to write its history of sustainable innovation. Specialized in the production of footwear for the mountains, free time and the accident prevention sector, the reality of Castelcucco has recently taken a significant step in its environmental path: the achievement of the ISO 14001 certification. A milestone that does not represent a point of arrival, but rather a new stage towards an increasingly profound, articulated and shared ecological transition.

An internationally recognized environmental management system

The ISO 14001 certification officially sanctions the effectiveness of the environmental management system implemented by Grisport. A recognition that demonstrates the company’s ability to monitor, control and constantly reduce its impact on the environment, through an integrated strategy that involves each phase of production and all the internal figures to the organization.

As President Dr. Graziano Grigolato points out: “We started our path in 2008 by installing a 15 thousand square meter photovoltaic system and, over the years, continuous improvements have been made in the name of respect for the environment and sustainability”. The path undertaken will culminate in 2026 with the publication of the first sustainability budget, an additional tool for transparency and reporting.

Solar energy and green architecture

Grisport’s commitment is evident in the numbers that characterize its production plant: 74,000 overall square meters, powered in part by a 15,000 square meter photovoltaic system that guarantees over 840,000 kWh of renewable energy every year. This allows you to avoid the entry into the atmosphere of about 500 tons of CO₂, a result which is added to the supply from external renewable sources for other corporate sectors. Even the architecture of buildings follows sustainability criteria with 700 square meters of green roof, capable of retaining up to 14 liters of water per square meter, contributing to the purification of the air and to the attention of the visual impact.

A virtuous chain that looks to the future

The sustainability of Grisport is consistently declined along the entire supply chain, from the design to the packaging of the finished product. The production waste are carefully differentiated, while the self -computing boxes, the result of an internal patent, reduce the size in transport, allowing an estimated saving of about 400 trucks per year. The footwear themselves are made with recycled and recyclable materials. Leather, laces, fettes, linings, regenerated pet or polyester fabrics, rubber soles with 30% recycled content, up to water -based mastics. Polyurethane waste are also transformed into an alternative fuel by specialized companies, according to a circular economy model.

A shared corporate culture and a European alliance for the recycling of footwear

Environmental responsibility in Grisport is not limited to the top, but pervades the entire corporate culture: virtuous behaviors are promoted and adopted also by employees, which reduce the use of paper, recycle materials in the production departments and use ecological dishes. Internationally, the company is an active part of the “Green Gear Alliance”, an association that aims to create entirely recyclable safety footwear. Through the GGA boxes installed in the stores, consumers will be able to contribute to the recovery and reuse of disused shoes, fueling a continuous cycle of transformation and reuse.
