William and Kate leave Adelaide Cottage and move with their children to Forest Lodge, the new house immersed in the Windsor Great Park destined to become the definitive residence of the principles of Wales.
After two years spent in Adelaide Cottage, William and Kate Middleton are preparing to turn the page with a new chapter of their family life. The principles of Wales will in fact move to Forest Lodge, a historical residence immersed in the 4,800 acres of the Windsor Great Park, which will become their long -term home together with the children George, Charlotte and Louis. The decision comes after a complex period marked by the diagnosis and oncological treatment of the princess, a path that the couple symbolically wants to leave behind. According to sources close to the royal family, the transfer represents “an opportunity to start again, leaving behind painful memories to open up to a more peaceful future”.

Forest Lodge has eight bedrooms and has been the subject of important restoration works in 2001, with architectural details that testify to its history, as stuccoes elaborate and barrel vaults. Despite the dimensions, William and Kate have chosen, as already adelaide Cottage, that they have no resident staff, to maintain the size of a private family home as much as possible. The new address is not thought as a temporary solution, but as the definitive house of the principles of Wales, also in perspective of their future role as King and Queen.
The link with nature is a common thread for the princess, who repeatedly described the environment as its “cure” and “sanctuary”. Surrounded by woods and secular landscapes, the new residence is preparing to offer the family an intimate and collected space, far from the spotlight, where the three children will be able to grow peacefully, continuing to attend the Lambrook School.
The transfer is scheduled by Christmas, with the hope that Forest Lodge becomes the place of new happy memories, in a balance between real tradition and desire for normality that has always characterized the lifestyle of William and Kate.
