First the waste, now the footprints: the new analyzes on the traces in the house of Chiara Poggi do not bring turns. No useful DNA, no connection with Andrea Semplio. Meanwhile, Alberto Stasi collects the definitive green light for semi -freedom.
Eighteen years after Chiara Poggi’s murder, the mystery remains, but the footprints no longer speak.
No trace of DNA has emerged from the acetate sheets that for years have silently kept imprints never analyzed in the Garlasco house. Those same footprints that, in the past, someone had indicated as potentially decisive. Now, however, the technical investigations dismantle one of the most promising slopes to rewrite the crime scene. And while justice gives Alberto Stasi semi -freedom, for Andrea Semve – the new suspect – a partial but heavy confirmation arrives: “Semve was not on the crime scene”reiterates his lawyer. The truth, once again, seems to move away.
Among the imprints examined there is also the so -called “imprint 10”detected on the entrance door of the house. Five years ago, in a note from the Carabinieri of Milan addressed to the Pavia Prosecutor’s Office, that track had been considered “Significant” if “impressed in the blood”assuming could have been left by the author of the crime. However, already in recent months, investigators had begun to downsize their weight in the new reconstruction. The recent Test to verify the presence of blood has given negative outcomealthough further analyzes are planned with different techniques. Now also comes the confirmation: The amount of biological material is insufficient for any type of comparison.
According to a consultancy ordered by the Prosecutor, The imprint in question does not belong to Alberto Stasi – definitively sentenced to 16 years – nor to the new suspect Andrea Semve.
In the meantime, Stasi has obtained an important victory over the judicial plan. The Cassation rejected the appeal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office against the semi -freedom granted in April by the Milan surveillance court, rejecting the criticisms made for the interview with The hyenas during a prize permit. According to the Supreme Court, as supported by the lawyers Giada Bocellari and Antonio De Rensis, The appeal of the General Prosecutor is “inadmissible”. Chiara Poggi’s ex -boyfriend, who has long been working outside the Bollate prison, It will therefore continue to benefit from the semi -freedom regime.
The technical investigations, however, continue. On Friday a new meeting is expected between consultants and experts in Milan for the third stage of the evidentiary accident. Among the elements still to be analyzed there are the Bathroom mat – where the imprint of the killer shoeconsidered compatible with that of Stasi -, The swabs on the victim’s body and the blood traces found in the house. At the center of the investigation led by the prosecutor of Pavia Fabio Napoleone, by the addition Stefano Civardi and the prosecutors Valentina De Stefano and Giuliana Rizza, the central node remains: the usability of the DNA found under the victim’s nails And the possible confrontation with the genetic profile of Andrea Semplio.
What emerged so far from the analyzes on the sixty footprints in the Poggi house, however, seems to go in a precise direction. Only two or three sheets of acetate contained apparently useful residues, but the quantities found were still too low. “The scientific investigations carried out so far confirm the total extraneousness of semium”said the lawyer Angela Taccia, defender of the young man, already ended up in the center of attention years ago following a defensive investigation then archived.
“To date, not only the genetic analysis of the finds found in the garbage, but also the results that emerged from the analyzes carried out on the acetates, confirm once again that my assisted semium was not on the crime scene, as for years he has stated for years,” he reiterated. Effectively, The values found with the extraction kits did not even exceed 0.1 on a scale that reaches up to a thousand.
The results must now be confirmed by further “characterization” tests, that is to say more targeted techniques to try to recover DNA where possible. But the path appears marked.
Meanwhile, in parallel with the evidentiary accident, the typeloscopic analysis outside the main file continues. The Carabinieri del Ris, with the expert Gianpaolo Iuliano and the consultant Nicola Caprioli, are working on this line. The so -called trace “33”found on the cellar stairs, has already been attributed to Andrea Sempliobut its relevance still remains to be evaluated in the overall framework.
The next appointment for technical activities is set for July 4th, always in the scientific police laboratories. In the meantime, the Poggi family has broken the silence on the matter. The pain remains alive. On the past, a phrase called by Chiara’s parents on Stasi continues to weigh: “He never said: ‘I didn’t kill him’. ‘
