How cocaine changed the face of the Caribbean

For decades the Caribbean has been described as an archipelago of beaches, resorts and apparent stability. Behind this narrative, however, a very different reality has consolidated: that of a region that has become structural hub of global cocaine traffickingwith profound and lasting effects on security, the economy and institutions. Geography played a decisive role.
