Paris Jackson is a courageous girl: she is not afraid to show herself for who she is, even when the truth hurts. In a video on TikTok, Michael Jackson’s daughter and Debbie Rowe he said with disarming sincerity one of the most tangible consequences of his past with cocaine: one perforation of the nasal septum which has accompanied it for years.
In the video, the 27-year-old lights up the inside of her nostril with her cell phone flashlight, showing the cavity that joins the two sides of her nose. «I realized that I have never addressed this topic, but sometimes it can be very evident. I have a very loud whistling noise when I breathe through my noseand it happens because I have what is called a “perforated nasal septum”,” he explains. Then, in an extremely direct tone, he admits, “That’s exactly where you think it came from.”
“Don’t do drugs”
The phrase, halfway between irony and awareness, encompasses the entire rebirth journey of the singer and model, who has now been sober for over five years. «Don’t do drugs, guys. Or do it, everyone must have the experiences they need in life. I won’t tell anyone what to do, I don’t recommend it, because it ruined my life».
Paris’ condition could be resolved with surgery, but Michael Jackson’s daughter has decided that she will not undergo any surgery: «You have to take painkillers for such an operation, and I don’t want to risk it break my head with that stuff and of get closer to that world.”
The rebirth of a daughter of art
Today Paris Jackson is a singer-songwriter, model and actress with astrong and autonomous identity, far from the bygone shadow of drugs. After years of fighting addictions and depression, today this girl has undoubtedly become a symbol of self-improvement and authenticity.
Irony and disenchantment are his way of exorcising pain. Like when, in the video, he states with bitter sarcasm: “I can really put spaghetti in there.” Showing your fragility, as Paris did, is not a sign of weakness, but of courage. Using drugs, yes, is a sign of weakness.
