Droni, Tomahawk and destroyed bunkers: the US enters the conflict to reset the Iranian arsenal. Alert in Europe for possible retaliation, while Israel pushes to close the nuclear dossier before it is too late
The US attack hit three of the urgent goals: reset the Iranian nuclear program, avoid the block of the Hormuz Strait and limit the Israeli expenses, now al 7% of the national GDP. Weapons in Yemen remain to be stopped, while the alert for terrorism is growing, for possible repercussions towards USA bases in the Mediterranean and for the position of Russia, Korea and China.
A few hours after the attacks of this morning (the Italian night) to Iranian nuclear sites, other US bombers have released precision bombs on the port of Bandar Abbas. This is the second strategic objective to make Tehran’s forces harmless, preventing any initiative to block the Hormuz Strait. A third goal is missing: cutting the “head” forever to that snake that through the desert brings weapons to the rebels Houthi nel Yemen and which constitutes the arsenal that the Ayatollah provide to Hezbollah and Hamas. An estimated potential in Tehran’s ability to build 8,000 missiles in a short time while at least half of the declared 2,500 ready -made devices would have been launched and largely destroyed, in flight as on the ground, during the first Israeli incursions. It is estimated that over 50% of the fixed and mobile ramps have been neutralized. But while for the first two objectives the confirmation of their destruction is guaranteed by satellite photos, for the third things are more complicated and it is not enough to be owners of the best military technological resources to hit the underground, such as the GBU-57 bombs used to penetrate the infrastructures of Mount Kolang Gaz, where the laboratories of the Nuclear Center of Natanz were hidden. More shots of the GBU-57 have been settled at the same point to ensure the perforation of high density reinforced concrete structures, also detecting earthquake shocks due to underground explosions. But elsewhere the territories to be controlled are too extensive, the slopes followed by the convoys full of weapons are numerous and always different, the enemy is able to hide and hide them in the many villages present. Here the 12 Super B -2 Spirit bombers arrived from the USA can do little, it will be a dirty work that can only be completed in two ways: by beheading the Iranian regime, but we know that the future successors of Khamenei have already been appointed, or with the use of agents on the spot or of an unlikely and very expensive use of the infantry that Trump first wants to avoid. To destroy the surface structures, such as those of the ISFANAH center, long-range cruise missiles have been used, at least thirty of BGM-109E/IV-Tomahawk launched by different units of the American Navy, some of which are submarine, such as the USS Georgia (SSGN-729), Ohio class underwater currently in navigation in the northern Arabic sea. Everything is certainly not finished with this attack: Friday, the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group was operational in the northern Arabic Sea, while the combat group of the Nimitz holder’s aircraft carrier should arrive in the region by the evening of 22 June. The US also placed two launch-free destroyers Class Arleigh Burke in the Red Sea: the Uss Forrest Sherman (DDG-98) and the USS Truxttun (DDG-103), while in the Mediterranean they cross five ballistic missile defense ships: the USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51), the USS Thomas Hudner (DDG-116), The Uss Sullivans (DDG-68), the USS Paul Ignatius (DDG-117) and the USS Oscar Austin (DDG-79). The five ships are able to intercepate ballistic missiles directed against Israel or US bases in the region, including Sicily. Although the aerial supremacy of Israel and the USA in the Iranian airspace is obvious, it is not the fact that other batteries of missiles may have been activated or prepared quickly, for this reason the B-2 bombers have been preceded by raids of the “escort” consisting of the f-22a hunting and the ESAF F-35a, as well as the Israeli F-35. Apparently the US specifically let some bombers and as many aviocisterne were visible on the tracking sites while they flew towards the Guam base, in the Pacific, while other groups flew directly to the area of the operations. In the next twelve hours, when the smoking of the fires has run out, the satellites will be able to confirm whether the objectives have actually been achieved. From what we appear while we write, a series of shots seem to have been scored in Fordow near the entrance points of the nuclear center and some soil sagging around the base that would demonstrate the collapse of the bunker sunshine are also evident. The logic question that we ask is what the Iranian reaction can be. According to the majority of analysts, it can be very limited in the immediate time, while asymmetrical actions are increasingly probable over time at the US bases and foreign military contingents present in the Middle East. So the international scenario becomes complicated: Moscow has opposed a possible change of the Iranian regime; Some nations have given themselves willing to give Nuclear weapons to Tehran, and these factors, together with the need to control internal finances, led Israel to want to close the game of Iranian nuclear danger in the shortest possible time, also because the open fronts are now too many: Gaza, West Bank, Syria, Lebanon, Iran and Yemen. The total of military expenditure for the latest campaigns, according to the British Rusi Study Center and the Israeli Ministry of Economy, for Jerusalem would have reached 75 billion dollars with an incidence of 7%. This figure, also reported by the Reuter agency and published by the Guardian, widely justifies the “haste” of the Netanyahu government. Now to fear there are certainly the Iranian cells present in Israel, Europe and the USA, able to carry out terrorist acts. For this reason, the alert is also maximum for us Italians who have military contingents abroad. But not only: the intelligence of all of Europe are committed to keeping an eye on terrorist groups present in the Netherlands, not surprisingly the Iranian ambassador in the Netherlands was convened after the Aia’s services had connected Tehran to two assassination attempts in Europe, including an attack in Haarlem in 2024 and an attack on the Spanish politician Alejo Vidal-Quadras the previous year. Similarly, in Sweden two men, Mohammad Heidari and Shayan Tousynezhad, were considered linked to the Iranian revolutionary guard and would have used false identities to obtain a kindergarten and prepare an attack on Swedish Jews.
