A decade that made history

The documentary, however, goes beyond sports reporting. Juventus’ golden decade overlaps with one of the most complex periods in Italian history, marked by social tensions, terrorism, scandals and profound changes. From the city’s rivalry with Torino in the years of lead up to the conquest of the Intercontinental Cup on 8 December 1985 in Tokyo, the story follows an emotional line that unites the pitch and society.
The most painful and still indelible passage is not missing today: the Heysel tragedy in 1985, which forever marks the history of the club and European football, as well as the memory of symbolic figures such as Gaetano Scirea and Paolo Rossi, champions who have become the heritage of collective memory.
