Massimo Bossetti returns to speak on TV and reiterates his innocence. But in the interview with Francesca Fagnani, including contradictions, silences and personal admissions, many questions still remain unanswered.

Bossetti, today 54 years old, appears on video with the same image that made it known during the process: jeans, striped shirt, brush hair and pizzetto, only gray. He reiterates what he has always supported: his innocence.
“I survive the injustice that I am forced to live”says. When asked if Yara’s parents have justice, he replies: “Justice that should be deserved is not made”.
Shows an apparent calm, saying that he does not have “hell inside”, but recognizes the weight of the public stigma: “I’m quiet. (…) It’s like a tattoo that drags you “he says, referring to the charge of murder, which he defines “Infamant”.
In prison, he says, he resists thanks to the strength that his family gives him: «The anger has turned into force. And the strength is fueled by the love of my family members, children, so I can resist a daily injustice “.

When Fagnani asks him if it is possible that, due to a strong trauma, he may have removed the memory of the crime, Bossetti is categorical: «No, in my case no. There is no really. Why go against a poor little girl? “.
DNA, the Regina test
The DNA is the central point of the interview, as of the process. Fagnani stresses that from the analyzes “He has always emerged several times his DNA on Yara’s briefs and leggings”. For Bossetti “It’s all absurd”. And the journalist urges: “Not for science or by the law”.
Bossetti reiterates a node of his procedural defense: “The nuclear DNA, which should be dispersed at a few weeks, was present”, while “the mitochondrial, which is known by everyone that you cannot disperse, is not there”.
This alleged anomaly has been discussed at the hearing, but for the judges it does not affect the genetic test: nuclear DNA – comparable to a digital imprint – uniquely identifies a person. The mitochondrial DNA, on the other hand, has indicative value only for the maternal line, and normally it is not even used in the investigation.
Yet, precisely starting from the mitochondrial DNA the investigators managed to identify “Unknown 1”. The comparative analysis of the genetic profiles taken on a carpet on the men of the area led to the Guerinoni family. A partial match with Damiano Guerinoni made it possible to trace the father, Giuseppe Benedetto Guerinonideceased, whose exhumation confirmed: “Unknown 1” was his illegitimate son.
The research thus focused on women that the man could have attended: among them, Ester Arzuffimother of Massimo Bossetti. The test is unequivocal: Bossetti is “unknown 1”.
Bossetti’s unknown father and the truth never told
The interview then moves to more intimate aspects. Bossetti talks about his childhood as “A little tormented”marked by the quarrels between the parents and the severity of the father: “It happened that I remained closed in the room without eating for two days”tells. And the interceptions in prison with his wife, Marita Comido not help: she asks him where she was when Yara disappeared, but he doesn’t answer.
The lies of “The fairy tale”
To the journalist who puts him on his relationship with the truth, Bossetti replies: «Normal, I have always defended myself vigorously. But there is no truth for those who do not want to listen “.
