Municipal elections 2025, Genoa and Ravenna to the center -left. Taranto and Matera at the ballot

The center -left conquers significant victories in the first round of the administrative ones, imposing itself in Genoa and Ravenna with Silvia Salis and Alessandro Barattoni. In Genoa, Salis’s victory marks the return of the left after eight years of the center -right, while in Ravenna Barattoni continues the progressive tradition of the city. In Taranto and Matera you will go to the ballot, but the progressive candidates start ahead. The turnout remains stable at 56.3% in a return which, beyond the numbers, relaunches the theme of the unit and rekindles the political clash with the government.

There were 126 municipalities called to vote on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 May, among them also a regional capital, Genoa and three provincial capitals: Ravenna, Matera and Taranto.
