Lando’s Mc Laren is the fastest and is the favorite for the Grand Prix, but the Reds are lurking. Uphill race for Verstappen (fifth) and Piastri (seventh)
The fight for the World Constructors’ title and the current leader is heating up more and more Oscar Piastri still seems to be in difficulty. In the official practice of the Mexican Grand Prix he obtained only the seventh time and will start in the fourth row, while his Mc Laren teammate Lando Norris took pole position. It wasn’t an easy Saturday for Max Verstappen and his Red Bull. The Dutchman who acts as the third wheel between the two “papayas” this time was unable to land the shot, finishing only fifth. So the race will be uphill for him too.
Finally Ferrari
Instead they smile at Maranello for the front row conquered by Charles Leclercthe Monegasque achieved the second half just two hundredths behind Norris. And the third time set by Lewis Hamilton (the best placing for the Englishman since he drove Ferrari) bodes well for the race. Ferrari dreams of repeating last season’s victory obtained by Carlos Sainz and thus being able to break the fast of 2025. In the Mexican circuit the start is fundamental, if one of the Ferraris manages to get to the corner in front of everyone then the Ferrari would have an excellent chance of victory. It will certainly be a race in which those who start from behind will have to attack to recover positions, especially Verstappen and Piastri who will start from the back. Norris’ Mc Laren is the big favourite not only for the pole position obtained by Lando but also for the times recorded on Friday in the race pace simulation: almost 8 hundredths per lap faster than the other single-seaters. But be careful at the first corner, anything can happen there.
