OPPO launches Reno16 and brings an exclusive pop up between technology and K-pop to Milan

OPPO launches the new Reno16 Series with an immersive pop-up in Milan dedicated to the collaboration with BABYMONSTER: technology, AI, creative photography and K-pop meet from 10 to 12 July.

Technology alone is no longer enough. To conquer a generation that grew up with social networks, creators and content to share in real time, today a smartphone must also tell a story of lifestyle. It is from this idea that the strategy with which OPPO accompanies the debut of the new Reno16 Series was born: not a simple product launch, but an immersive experience that intertwines design, artificial intelligence and Korean pop culture. From 10 to 12 July, the Chinese brand will open a pop-up in the heart of Milan entirely dedicated to the new range of smartphones and to the collaboration with BABYMONSTER, the YG Entertainment girl group chosen as Reno Ambassador. A space designed to transform the public from simple spectators to protagonists, literally putting the creative tools of the new Reno series into the hands of visitors.

OPPO turns the launch of Reno16 into an immersive experience

The initiative represents one of the central moments of the international campaign dedicated to the Reno16 Series. The Milanese pop-up will be completely branded OPPO x BABYMONSTER and will accompany visitors along a route built around the visual identity of the new smartphone. Installations, plays of light, scenographic elements and references to the new 3D Pop Planet Design will transform the space into an environment designed to stimulate creativity and sharing.

The experience, however, will not only be visual. Visitors will be able to directly try the new devices in the Reno16 range, experiencing the main functions dedicated to creative photography, social content and AI-based editing. Through AI Remix Collage it will be possible to create dynamic collages by combining photographs, Motion Photos and short videos, adding animated stickers and AI effects to create content immediately ready for publication.

At the end of the journey, each participant will be able to download the contents created during the visit via a QR code and share them on their social channels. Anyone who publishes photos or videos inspired by the pop-up, both using the external installations and the props present inside the space, will also be able to access exclusive freebies and dedicated activities.

A Reno designed for creators and social media

The heart of the initiative naturally remains the new Reno16 Series, composed of Reno16, Reno16 Pro and Reno16 FS, developed by OPPO with the aim of making content creation increasingly simple, intuitive and expressive.

From an aesthetic point of view, the new makes its debut 3D Pop Planet Designa visual language inspired by the idea that each individual represents a small planet full of energy and personality. In the Pop White version, the particular 3D HoloVerse technology creates a three-dimensional effect that changes depending on light and movement, giving depth to the surface of the smartphone without giving up a premium finish.

The focus, however, is mainly on the features dedicated to photography. The new one PopCam lets you apply analog camera-inspired effects like Digicam, Instant Film and Light Leak with one tap, while the new Creative Hub built into the Photos app introduces AI-powered tools like AI Remix Collage And Popout 2.0designed to make editing even easier and more spectacular.

In addition to the photographic component, the Reno16 Series integrates the new intelligent functions of ColorOS 16. These include AI Snap Keywhich allows you to quickly save information displayed on the screen, AI Mind Spacedesigned to organize contents and documents, AI Mind Pilotwhich coordinates different artificial intelligence models depending on the tasks required, and AI Menu Translationdeveloped to translate and explain restaurant menus while traveling abroad.

On the hardware front, the series focuses on batteries of at least 6,000 mAh, fast charging up to 80W SUPERVOOC, IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications against water and dust, as well as new functions dedicated to gaming and connection stability such as AI HyperBoost 3.0 and AI LinkBoost 4.0.

Together with the new Reno family it also debuts OPPO Bubblea small magnetic accessory equipped with an AMOLED display that works as a remote monitor for the rear camera and allows you to take selfies, group photographs and creative content even from a distance.

Why OPPO chose BABYMONSTER

What makes the launch of the Reno16 Series even more recognizable is the collaboration with BABYMONSTER, the YG Entertainment girl group that in recent months has established itself as one of the most important emerging groups on the K-pop scene.

The choice of the group as Reno Ambassadors reflects OPPO’s desire to speak to a new generation of creators through immediately recognizable languages. The seven artists embody values such as creativity, individuality and personal expression, the same ones that the brand intends to associate with the new Reno range.

The Milanese pop-up therefore represents much more than a simple commercial presentation. It is the meeting point between technology and pop culture, an experiential marketing experiment in which the smartphone becomes the center of an ecosystem made up of photography, artificial intelligence, music and social content, confirming how K-pop is now one of the privileged languages with which large global brands communicate with the younger audience.
