In the opening declarations of the summit, held today at 11, Premier Meloni said that “Today’s summit represents a fundamental step in the internationalization of the Mattei Plan. The premier then added that “Africa is a continent in which our future is played. According to the Premier, the purpose of today’s summit is to offer concrete answers to the priorities expressed by African partners on strategic infrastructures, on safe and modern digital connections and on the relaunch of the local agricultural chains.

Among the most relevant projects in the realization phase is the “Corridor of Lubito”an 830 km railway line destined to connect Angola and Zambia through the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with possible future developments to the Tanzanian port of Dar Es Salaam. The initiative aims to create a regional logistical axis for transit not only of strategic minerals, but also of agricultural and energy resources, thus promoting an integrated economic development.

At the same time, interventions are planned to enhance the digital interconnection of the optical fiber cable cable “Blue-Ran”which will strengthen the connections between India, Europe and the Middle East, together with measures to support African agri -food supply chains and the consolidation of supply chains, in order to improve their efficiency and stability.
