Low turnout after the first hours of vote for referendums on work and citizenship. Quorum far away, despite the political campaign of Pd and 5 Star Movement
The referendums on the labor market and on citizens do not break through, despite the campaign of the left and the first person commitment of the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein. A trend that emerged from the early hours of the consultation. At 12 he voted for the five referendum questions 7.4% of the voters who are entitled, a data made known by the Interior Ministry after collecting the indications that have come from 61,591 sections scattered throughout Italy.
A trend that seems to remove the achievement of the quorum necessary for the referendums to be considered valid. It must be remembered that the seats were open at 7 am on Sunday 8 June and will close at 11pm and that there will also be a way to vote on Monday 9 June from 7 to 3 pm. The bare will take place immediately after closing the polls.
7.4% of turnout at noon on a national basis mark a showy drop compared to the outdoor abrogative referendum for which the Italian were called to pronounce. This is the one on the water in 2011: on that occasion, at the same time, the 11.6 of those entitled to the polls and in the end the quorum had been reached with 57% of the voters.
On the participation and on the vote “yes” to the five referendum questions, the left has been greatly spent in recent weeks, from the Democratic Party to the 5 Star Movement. It is no coincidence that Elly Schlein and Giuseppe Conte, as well as all the leaders of the center -left, were among the first to present themselves at the polls in an attempt to mobilize the base. In recent days, the declaration of intent by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had been accepted among the controversies, who announced the presence at the seat by exercising, however, the planned right not to withdraw the cards thus refraining from the referendum consultation.
