Jannik beats the Australian De Minaur for the eleventh time and will face the German Zverev who overtook Lorenzo after a tough battle
The twelfth consecutive victory of Jannik Sinner vs. Alex De Minaur the final for the South Tyrolean at the ATP 500 in Vienna is worth it, but he won’t be there Lorenzo Musetti who was beaten by the German Zverev. . Jannik wins 6-3, 6-4 and wins the final number 31 of his career, the eighth in 2025 and the second in three years in Vienna, with the twentieth indoor hard court match won consecutively by the South Tyrolean. It wasn’t a devastating Sinner but very concentrated in the decisive moments of the match. De Minaur proved once again that he is a great fighter but that he cannot keep up with the Italian’s pace. Jannik started very strong taking the lead to 4-0, he had the ball to make it 5-1 which De Minaur canceled out and then the Australian finally entered the match, but was unable to counter Jannik who closed the first set 6-3. In the second set the balance held until the eighth game when Sinner broke his opponent’s serve. At that point De Minaur tried to react but Sinner didn’t let him, finishing 6-3.
Musetti can’t do it
The second semi-final with the German lasted an hour and 33 minutes Aleksander Zverev who beat our Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian had beaten the German on the last three occasions but this time Zverev didn’t have the usual breaks, especially on serve. AND he made the most of his opportunities which happened to him because the game went away on an absolute balance. Musetti was also unlucky because the two points that decided the first set ended up in favor of the German (6-4). In the second set balance until 5-5 and then a double fault and a weak second set by Musetti allowed Zverev to get the break and then close 7-5. However, Musetti is one step away from qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin: with the semi-final in Vienna he increased his lead over his closest pursuer, Felix Auger Aliassime, by 100 points (3685 against the Canadian’s 3245), and therefore goes into the ATP 1000 in Paris with more than 400 points ahead.
