The Ministry of Infrastructure platform is online: contribution of up to 500 euros per month for those who have left the family home. Requirements, amount and how to apply, without click day and without ISEE
The platform for requesting the rent bonus for separated or divorced parents has been online since 7 October: help up to 500 euros per monthfor those who have left the family home and have to pay a fee. There are three weeks available for applications, they close on October 28th at 12pm. And no rush to click: the order of arrival doesn’t matter. You don’t look at the ISEE, but at the income of the person who applies.
Rent bonus for separated parents: who is entitled to it and what are the requirements
The contribution, provided for by the 2026 Budget Law, is aimed at separated or divorced parents who have not remained in the family home they own, assigned to the other parent, and have at least one dependent child up to 21 years of age, without limits in the case of disability. To apply you need:
- a personal income not exceeding 35 thousand euros, calculated on the latest available tax return;
- a rental contract for residential use, duly registered and in your name;
- residence in an Italian municipality;
- the regular payment of any child maintenance allowance;
- no other residential property within 50 kilometers of the previous family home;
- no public housing allocated and no other public rent subsidies.
How much is the rent bonus for separated parents worth: maximum amount and available funds
The contribution covers half the rent, up to a maximum of 500 euros per month, 6 thousand euros per year. The allocated fund is 20 million euros per year and is divided between the Regionstaking into account how many separated parents there are, the average income and how many municipalities are classified as having high housing tension. At the top of the list are Lombardy, Lazio and Campania. The Ministry expects at least 5 thousand beneficiaries in the first phase.
How to apply: Spid, Cie or Cns and what to check before sending
The request must be submitted online only, on the dedicated platform of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (sostegnoabitativogenitoriseparati.mit.gov.it). You must enter with Spid, Cie or Cns, confirm the requirements and fill in the required fields, including income. The application cannot be modified, so it is best to double check all the data before sending. Upon successful submission, a green bar will appear with the case number and the words “Completed”: it is best to immediately save the summary in PDF. What is declared is a self-certification and therefore it is advisable to keep the rental contract, the separation or divorce sentence or agreement and the payment receipts, in case of random checks.
Ranking and deadlines: no click day, but better not to wait until the last day
Arriving first doesn’t matter. The applications collected will form a regional ranking. Those who have more dependent children, those who have a disability or a disabled child, those who have lost their job without choosing it and those who live in a municipality with high housing tension have more points. If the score is equal, it counts who has the same income as the applicant. The deadline is October 28th at 12. But those who are already in the queue have 24 hours at that point to complete the submission, as long as they don’t close the page or lose their connection. The deadline will only be postponed if the platform is blocked.
