Already sentenced for the murder of Meredith Kercher, Rudy Guede will face a new process for sexual violence: the ex -girlfriend denounces him.
Rudy Guede, 38 years old, definitively sentenced for the competition in the murder of Meredith Kercher, returns before the judges. The Court of Perugia has ordered the indictment on the charge of “mistreatment, personal injuries and sexual violence” against his former partner, a 25 year old from Viterbo. The first hearing is set for November 4, 2025, right in the Umbrian capital, a city where the Kercher crime was consumed in November 2007.
The accusations of the former partner
The story was born from a relationship that lasted about a year and a half. In the summer of 2023, the young woman filed a complaint claiming that she had suffered physical, psychological and sexual violence from guy. According to him, he did not know the judicial past of his partner at the beginning of the relationship, and describes him today as a “narcissistic manipulator”. Following the complaint, in December 2023, the Court ordered Guede the ban on approach and monitoring via electronic bracelet, still measures in force.
The defense: “He wants to demonstrate his innocence”
Guede, through his lawyer Carlo Mezzetti, said he wanted to face the classroom trial, giving up the abbreviated rite: “We will bring witnesses and evidence to demonstrate his innocence,” said the lawyer. “When reading the indictment, he reacted with serenity.” The defensive strategy aims to disassemble the accusations, which according to Mozzetti in at least one case “could have already fallen into the preliminary phase”.
Amanda Knox intervenes: “A forgotten killer”
To relaunch the media attention on the case was also the intervention of Amanda Knox, initially condemned and then definitively acquitted for the Kircher murder. Knox commented hard: “I hope people pay attention and do not allow once again to this forgotten killer to escape the responsibility of his crimes”.
