Sinner and Musetti ahead in Madrid Both qualified for the round of 16

Easy victory for Jannik against the Danish Moller, Lorenzo beats Griekspoor and will now face Lehecka

It can’t be the Danish Elmer Moller the opponent who puts you in difficulty Jannik Sinner. On the red clay of the Caja Magica in Madrid the number one in the world wins easily against the Dane in two sets (6-2, 6-3) with only one small missed pass in the first set when leading by two breaks he conceded one to his opponent. But otherwise the match was always dominated by Sinner, with Moller trying to close the gap with some good backhands but appearing to be in great difficulty on his forehand. Sinner played a solid game, he never resorted to a drop shot and only scored once. Probably because there was no need, the excellent percentages of first balls and the opponent’s errors allowed him to reach the round of 16 of the ATP Masters 1000 in the Spanish capital: Sinner will return to the field in the round of 16 against the winner of the match between the British Norris and the Argentine Tirante.

Musetti also did well

Also Lorenzo Musetti reached the round of 16 of the Madrid tournament: number 9 in the world ranking and seeded number six in the tournament, he beat in the round of 32 Tallon Griekspoor with the score of 6-4 7-5 in one hour and 40 minutes. Lorenzo was simply better in the decisive moments, and did not let himself be distracted when the Dutchman had recovered the break obtained by the blue in both the first and second sets. In the end Lorenzo said he was satisfied with his performance: “I played a solid match. It was a difficult match: I was almost always lucid. I only had a small drop in tension in the second set but he is always a dangerous opponent: this is why I am happy with today’s victory. My winning backhand? When certain shots succeed, it’s always a pleasure.” Musetti’s next opponent will be the Czech Lehecka.
