The blow of “green” mortgages

According to its most ardent supporters, the green transition set up by Europe to achieve the goal of zero-emission buildings is neither mandatory nor will it impact Italians’ wallets. “No one will be forced to put a coat on their home.” “Nor will we be forced to replace windows and doors to have more efficient ones with less heat dispersion.” The same desire to minimize is true for gas boilers. “Even if these will be outlawed from 2040, prohibiting their production and sale, no one will have to replace those already installed.” In short, according to the defenders of the measures wanted by Ursula von der Leyen and from the harlequin majority that governs Europe, the green transition will be as light as a feather and we will almost not notice the passage from the age of fossil fuels to that of clean air.

In reality, things are not exactly as they tell us. And if it is true that the EU has not foreseen any obligation to bring one’s apartment into line with the new requirements of Brussels, nor has it introduced provisions to replace boilers and windows by a certain date, in reality this is what will happen. Indeed, it is already happening.
