The first images from the set of the TV series

Harry Potter is back: the first images of the set of the new HBO TV series arrive from London. Dominic McLaughlin will be the young magician, flanked by Nick Frost as Hagrid, in a transposition faithful to the books with ample space for minor characters.

In a summer dominated by the nostalgic returns – from The devil dresses Prada who returns to walking on the streets of New York at the exit of That crazy Friday – It is the timeless Harry Potter who steals the scene. In fact, the first shots that reveal the set of the new TV series dedicated to the most famous wizard in the world come from London.

In the meantime, Jk Rowling’s magical world has been enriched with the sagas of Fantastic Beasts and theatrical adaptationsincluding the most recent, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Harry Potter and the curse of the heirwho saw Tom Felton, aka Draco Malfoy, to tread Broadway stages. Now, after years of voices and speculations, the story of Harry Potter adapts to the present with a TV series: each book will correspond to an entire season, finally giving space to the minor characters. All that remains is to wait for the launch and compare the reboot with previous, paper and cinematographic versions.

Harry Potter, the cast of the TV series

Bringing a so iconic saga to life involves two great challenges: loyalty to the original narrative and the choice of actors. If on the first point you have to wait for the airing, on the second there is no shortage of information.

The actors of the films have changed: In more than ten years people grow up and unfortunately some leave us, like Maggie Smith (Professor McGraitt) and Michael Gambon (Dumbledore). For the HBO series, the eleven year old Dominic McLaughlin plays the difficult and central role of Harry Potter. Next to him, Ron Weasley is entrusted to Alastair stou and Hermione Granger a Arabella Stanton. The cast is completed: Rory Wilmot as Neville Paciock, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Piton, John Lithgow like Albus Dumbledore and Janet McTeer to play Minerva McGranitt.

The series will arrive in 2027 on HBO and HBO Maxwith the first launch markets that include Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany. The official announcement dates back to April 2023, while shooting began just a month ago. In addition to the roads of London, the set has found space in the British studies of Warner Bros.
