the main measures for tourism

Support for tourism workers and incentives for businesses confirmed. Funds are also provided for municipalities under 30,000 inhabitants. Santanchè: «Measures that strengthen the supply chain and promote growth and sustainability»

The 2026 budget law, approved by the Senate and arriving in the House, includes measures that aim to support the growth of the tourism sector. Expressing satisfaction after the Senate’s green light, the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, declared: «The maneuver which includes measures to support workers and businesses is part of the strategy to strengthen the supply chain which is increasingly a protagonist of Italy’s economic, cultural and social growth».

The integrative treatment of 15%

The Executive confirmed support for workers in the tourism industry through the supplementary treatment of 15% on gross wages for night and overtime work from 1 January to 30 September 2026. The measure is reserved for employees in the tourism, hotel, spa and restaurant sectors with an income of up to 40,000 euros.

Support for businesses

With the aim of encouraging private investments and promoting the development of the supply chain at an industrial and commercial level, a total of 150 million euros will be allocated for supply chain contracts in the three-year period 2026-2028. Furthermore, to integrate this measure, additional funds are foreseen for development contracts, with an allocation of 250 million euros for 2027; 50 million for 2028 and 250 million for 2029.

The quality tourist destination

Another new element is represented by the recognition of “quality tourist destination”: the measure concerns municipalities with fewer than 30,000 inhabitants and provides for a fund of 500,000 euros per year starting from 2026. The aim is to promote both the quality and sustainability of local tourist services. With the recognition lasting two years, the selected locations will have Enit’s support as a priority in their valorization initiatives.

Single fund for tourism

The Single Capital and Current Fund for Tourism was also refinanced for a total of 37.5 million euros for each year of the three-year period 2026-2028. A simplified procedural process relating to the granting of loans is also envisaged.

The italia.it digital ecosystem

To ensure that the portal remains the point of reference for the tourism supply chain, a fund has been created aimed at the operation of the Tourism digital hub which provides for an allocation of 4.2 million euros for 2026 and 3.5 million per year from 2027. In this way the continuity of services is ensured even after the expiry of the Pnrr funds: italia.it will continue to put operators, businesses and institutions in contact.
