the queens of R&B for the first time in Italy

The Atlanta girl group that has sold over 65 million records will be in Italy for the first time in June

“No Scrubs”. Anyone who was even just a teenager in the nineties cannot help but associate these words with the title of one of the most famous songs in the entire R&B and hip hop universe of the time. The notes of this song rhyme with the name of one of the most acclaimed female musical groups of the period at the turn of the new century. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. In art: TLC.

And if turning for Milanyou can see how it is in recent times covered with flyers with slogans such as “Creep”, “Waterfalls”, but above all “No Scrubs”, the thought is only one. TLC has a new project cooking! Or, at least, two of them, given the early death in 2002 following a bad car accident in Honduras of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, the true creative soul of the group.

2002, the same year in which T-Boz and Chilli announced their desire to dissolve the band so as not to replace Lisa. The same two girls, now women, have decided to bring back to life the splendid songs with soulful, quiet storm rhythms, with futuristic nuances that characterized their career.

The three girls from Atlanta have sold 65 million records worldwide, capable of placing their singles at the top of the American and world charts for weeks, collecting Grammy Awards and gold, platinum and diamond certifications (the first time in the history of music for a female group).

In 2012 they were classified by the music channel VH1 in twelfth place among the hundred best women in the history of music.

Waterfalls, No Scrubs, Unpretty, Creep, Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg.

Because even with one member less, despite the arguments and disagreements within the group (which band doesn’t have them?), those songs, those sounds, and above all that energy deserve to be “dusted off” with the same independence and self-determination as twenty years ago.

The date of their Italian debut is June 15th at the Music Park in Milan, their first Italian date ever.

Stay tuned.
