The second evening of the Festival begins with the Nuove Proposte after a day in which more than about music there was talk about the decline in the Festival’s audience on the opening night.
Nicolò Filippucci – Laguna
This very classic and symphonic ballad starts slowly and rises, but it lacks “the hook” that makes the difference. Rating 5
Blind, El Ma & Soniko – In my DMs
The pace picks up with this trio’s piece, a very catchy moderately dance track that doesn’t shine with originality. Rating 5.5
Wins the first semi-final of the Nuove Proposte Nicolò Filippucci.
Angelica Bove – Brick
We fly high, in terms of voice, interpretation and quality of the piece and when the refrain arrives it has already won. He knows how to excite and be on stage. Rating 7
Mazzariello – Manifestation of love
It starts delicately and then increases the beat in a pop rock key. An allegro andante piece, definitely better than many songs by the big names. Rating 6
Wins the second semi-final of Nuove Proposte Angelica Bove
Once the New Proposals parenthesis is closed, the competition begins with the 15 big names.
Patty Pravo – Opera
An extraterrestrial at the Festival. Class, personality, charisma and a vibrant, symphonic piece. The voice isn’t at its best, but it doesn’t matter because the songs are also made of intensity. A style lesson that comes from afar. Rating 7
LDA & Aka 7even – Clandestine poems
It’s quite impressive to see two young people dealing with a piece like this. As we said yesterday there is an echo of Gigi D’Alessio’s most lively pieces. But that’s another story. In any case, Ariston applauds with conviction. Rating 5
Enrico Nigiotti – Whenever I don’t know how to fly
Good interpretation for a piece that belongs to another era of music. the idea of an author’s song without a refrain in the context of the Festival is appreciable. Rating 5.5
Thomas Paradiso – The romantics
On the second live listen, this ballad for the daughter is more convincing. He sings it in his own way without exaggerating the emphasis. He has his own style and he honors it with this song which can reach the podium even without an overwhelming refrain. Rating 6
Elettra Lamborghini – Voila
The second time it doesn’t change much: you pass the homage to Carrà, but the piece is really too much. Rating 4
Ermal Meta – Little star
The Middle Eastern atmosphere of the piece is not extraordinary, but in a context of empty or at most half-filled lyrics, an artist who talks about war and the children victims of war is a medal. Rating 6
Levant – It’s you
It’s not a Sanremo piece, fortunately. The level of writing is higher than the average of this year’s pieces. The interpretation is good and reminds us that singing is not moving on a flat line. Rating 6.5
Rag Dolls – Stay with me
As the only rock representatives we could have expected a more powerful and courageous piece. Stay with me is a crescendo ballad that however twists a bit on itself. Rating 5.5
Chiello – I always think of you
Reminiscences of 90s pop-tinged rock. A piece that passes and goes without jolts or emotions. Rating 5
J-Ax – Italy starter pack
If nothing else, J Ax’s country version has the merit of setting some energy in motion. The piece is not memorable but the Ariston audience appreciates it and claps its hands. Sometimes you need “a bad song that goes…” Rating 6
Nayt – Before
Let’s say that the contaminations between pop and rap are too inflated. The song is catchy, but at this point also dated. Rating 5
Lightning bolts – Stupid bad luck
Some light music done well. Stupid Luck stays in the head and has everything it takes to become a success. He, sober, plays it with confidence and a bit of melancholy. Rating 6.5
Fedez & Marco Masini – Necessary evil
A formula that could also make them win. Masini takes care of the melody, Fedez dedicates himself to the rap part in his own way with a few autobiographical references. Nothing special, but I like it and will like it in the coming weeks too. Rating 5.5
Dargen D’Amico – Ai ai
This ironic and irreverent joke will have a long life. Dargen plays it with a cabaret attitude while the audience at the Ariston wriggles in their seats. Coming soon to all beaches. Rating 5.5
Toe in the wound – How annoying!
