Trump’s new match aims to relaunch Abraham agreements

Donald Trump aims more and more to the relaunch of the Abraham agreements. Speaking on Fox Newsthe American president said that, After the conclusion of the conflict with Iran, various countries would be ready to join these agreements. “We have some really fantastic countries right now and I think we will start putting them on board, because Iran was the main problem,” he said, and then continued: “In reality I thought there was a period in which I believed that Iran would join the Abraham agreements together with all the others”.

The American correspondent for Syria, Tom Barrack, hoped that Lebanon and Syria soon signs of peace treaties with Israel. “President Al-Sharaa said he did not hate Israel and wanting peace on that border. I think this will also happen with Lebanon. It is necessary to reach an agreement with Israel,” he said. Not only that. Barrack has also added that Ankara will be part of the “new road” that is gradually starting to outline for the Middle East. “We create a new way, and Turkey is fundamental in this new path,” he said. On the other hand, it is no longer a mystery that the current Filoturco Damascus regime is in contact with Jerusalem in view of a possible normalization of diplomatic relations. The same White House last week announced that Trump urged Syria to move in this direction. Which is significant, especially in the light of the fact that, in 2020, Recep Tayyip Erdogan had shown himself greatly hostile towards the Abraham agreements.

And, just To be able to relaunch these agreements, the American president needs to resolve two related issues: that is, that is, Close the war to Gaza and, at the same time, definitively avoid the enrichment of uranium by the Khomeinist regime. Israelis and Saudi fear the Iranian atomic bomb, while Tehran is known to be the main source of support for Hamas. Without then neglecting that, in addition to Jerusalem and Riad, the Americans and, very probably, the Russians with interest also with interest. This means that, probably, the question of the reconstruction of Gaza cannot be split from that of the relaunch of the Abraham agreements. Agreements in which it is not at all excluded that Trump wants to try to involve Iran, once the latter has been made harmless from a nuclear point of view.

For the White House it is an ambitious goal. And the way to get there is certainly not obstacles. Benjamin Netanyahu must push the most conservative wing of his executive to accept a respite in Gaza. On the other hand, it will be necessary to understand which of the two souls who currently characterize the Khomeinist regime will be able to impose itself on the other: will the one open to an agreement on nuclear or the hostile one, mainly embodied by the Pasdaran? It is on these two unknowns that the future of the Middle Eastern strategy of the American President is played.
